Case report demonstrates endovascular repair treats Type IIIb endoleak in a thoracic aortic aneurysm after TEVAR, highlighting rare complications.
Thoracic aortic aneurysms are increasingly treated with thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) because it is less invasive than open surgery. However, postprocedural complications such as endoleaks may occur, with Type IIIb endoleaks – those involving graft fabric disruption such as fabric tears and stent fractures – being particularly rare. This case reports the case of a 75-year-old male who developed a Type IIIb endoleak 10 years after TEVAR, which was successfully treated with endovascular repair.
