Observational analysis reveals hydrothermal systems at the transform fault in the MAR crest zone, indicating mineralization potential.
Thermal activity in the above sector of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge (MAR) was expressed in the flanks of the transform fault of Cape Verde, in the interior and on the slopes of the mountains, which are part of a system of flank deformations of the transform. Products of hydrothermal systems were observed in the MAR crest zone in a band of no less than 100 km wide. Unique manifestations of “ore” basalts are disclosed in a flank of the axial rift valley.
