Geological conditions reveal hydrothermal mineralization in new terrains, indicating potential ore systems.
Geological conditions of hydrothermal mineralization have been described for four new terrains discovered within MAR in the latitudinal interval 14°42’–21°46’ N. A large thermal system lies in the eastern border of the “corner mountain” in the zone of joining of MAR and transform fault of Cape Verde (15°43’ N, 44°52’ W). An ore system with areal discharge is revealed outside the axial rift valley (14°43’ N, 44°52’ W). Vein sulfide and hematite mineralization has also been found far away from the rift valley in localities of the coordinates 15°51’ N, 46°23’ W and 15°53’ N, 46°57’ W.
