This technique shows improved outcomes in infants with congenital pouch colon, indicating the efficacy of minimally invasive surgery.
A BSTRACT Laparoscopy-assisted anorectoplasty (LAARP) with coloplasty is presented in two infants as a feasible technique for managing Type I/II congenital pouch colon (CPC). These key steps include laparoscopic fistula division, pouch mobilization, extracorporeal coloplasty, and perineal pull-through. The patients have shown good functional outcomes in the follow-up, supporting the role of minimally invasive approaches in selected CPC cases.
