Abstract WKS 34: Contemporary challenges for health and migration in a world on the move – the role of research, B309 (FCSH), September 5, 2025, 11:30 - 12:30 Background and Objectives The global changes that have been occurring in recent years have caused significant changes in migration flows and have directly or indirectly impacted the health of both immigrants and local populations. This roundtable, developed by the Migration Health and Development Initiative (MHADRI), seeks to bring together researchers who can offer a broad overview of current challenges in terms of health and migration. The objectives are to share how to ensure that research impacts policy in a meaningful way and how to continue to perform collaborative research across borders in the face of uncertainty. Workshop Plan Discussants will share the powerful evidence from bibliometric analysis on research production in health and migration and highlight how it can meaningfully impact policy, share key research in migration movements in the global South, discuss the importance of early career researcher development and emphasize the need for a network of experts in health and migration to face contemporary challenges. Participants will be engaged in the discussion to share best practices. Main Messages Collaboration in migration health research across borders, both national and in in terms of disciplines, is necessary in order to face the challenges of a world on the move.
