This preprint (submitted to IOP Phys. Ed. describes how AI can be used to develop a Python GUI (using Tkinter) to control, collect, analyse, save and retrieve the experiment measurements. Data produced are graph of distance vs time with a calculated value for the spring constant and the system's velocities and accelerations according to a fitted anharmonic model. The measurement device only requires a distance-measuring VL53L0X laser ranging unit and a microcontroller (ESP32 used here) mounted and connected on an appropriate contruction board.
