Does calibration of an automated blood pressure measuring device against analogue devices improve measurement accuracy?
A proposed calibration system for automated blood pressure devices achieves 99.47% to 99.82% accuracy compared to analogue devices.
The presence of unregulated high blood pressure (BP) is linked to an elevated chance of health problems, some of which may cause harm to a range of organs across the body. Among the most dangerous as well as widespread conditions is hypertension, which refers to increased blood pressures. Unfortunately, correct blood pressure readings need the use of many medical instruments. The proposed system compares the systolic and diastolic objectives of blood-pressure readings, which are obtained using analogue devices and those obtained using an electronically controlled blood pressure reading tool. The systolic measurement alone had a mean variance of 3,265 mmHg, while the diastolic measurement had a mean variance of 6,165 mmHg. The discrepancy is then included into these processes of calibrating the automated blood pressure measuring device. The accuracy of the output of the calibration reading tool is between 99.47% and 99.82%.
