VCore introduces a framework that quantifies the temporal cost of decisions, aiming to ensure sustainability in complex systems.
VCore — Temporal Governance Framework introduces a foundational conceptual model that defines time as an economic and operational asset and establishes a universal metric for the temporal cost of decisions. Throughout history, major technological advances were enabled by the creation of universal metrics: motion (physics), energy (thermodynamics), and computation (computer science). However, despite the acceleration and automation of modern systems, the temporal impact of decisions has never been formally measured or governed. This work introduces the concept of Temporal Cost, defining how decisions consume future structural capacity, and formalizes Future Burn as the phenomenon in which short-term efficiency or profit degrades long-term continuity. The VCore framework operates as a pre-decision governance layer, evaluating coherence, continuity thresholds, and temporal sustainability before decisions are authorized. VCore is not an optimization tool, dashboard, or artificial intelligence system. It is a temporal governance framework designed to prevent irreversible decisions that silently consume the future of complex systems. This publication establishes a new operational paradigm in which profit, efficiency, and growth are constrained by temporal continuity, closing a historical gap left open after the formalization of computation by Alan Turing. Canonical statement:After Alan Turing defined the limits of computation, VCore defines the universal metric for the temporal cost of decisions.
