ABSTRACT First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Journal of Cell Science, helping researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Calvin Huang is first author on ‘ A role of villin-dependent F-actin organization in peroxisome motility in Arabidopsis cells’, published in JCS. Calvin conducted the research described in this article while a Graduate Student in Bo Liu's lab at University of California Davis, Davis, USA. He is now a Postdoc in the lab of Wallace Marshall at University of California San Francisco, San Francisco, USA. His research interests focus on how the cytoskeleton organizes and remodels itself to control cellular function.
