The complex of mechanisms ensuring the formation of spiritual and patriotic qualities of the personality of employees of internal affairs bodies is considered. The twofold nature of the process of patriotism formation is revealed. A personal patriotic position is a cumulative effect of the influence of the educational environment and self-education of a personality. In the process of primary and secondary socialization, the proportion of components of legal education is gradually increasing.
