This article examines the role of special military operation veterans in the patriotic education of youth. The importance of personal example and the unique life experiences of special military operation veterans in shaping the civic identity of the younger generation is explored. Pedagogical conditions for increasing the effectiveness of their participation in the educational process for young people are analyzed. The article presents a summary of the results of an empirical study of student attitudes toward the involvement of special military operation veterans in patriotic outreach.
