This approach combines feedback linearization and sliding mode control to enhance induction motor performance, suggesting effective robustness under uncertainties.
The inherent nonlinearity of induction motors (IMs) presents a significant obstacle to achieving precise control. This nonlinearity arises from magnetic saturation and Joule heating effects, which lead to variations in the motor's inductance and resistance, respectively. These parametric uncertainties complicate the design and implementation of robust control strategies. To address these challenges, this work proposes a novel control approach that combines feedback linearization technique (FLT) and sliding mode control (SMC). FLT simplifies the complex IM model, facilitating the design of a high-performance controller. SMC, known for its robustness against parametric uncertainties, ensures effective control even under varying operating conditions. The simplicity of SMC implementation, requiring only a basic flux observer, further enhances its appeal for practical applications.
