Case report illustrates the transition to blast phase in chronic myeloid leukemia, indicating serious progression.
Leukemia cutis (LC) is the cutaneous involvement of hematologic malignancies, rarely associated with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). Here, we present the case of a 45-year-old male with CML in the chronic phase, on tyrosine kinase inhibitor, just after a period of 6 months presented with a skin nodule with dermal infiltration by B-cell blasts. The appearance of LC in a patient with CML is a critical finding, as it indicates a transition to the blast phase.
