The integration of nanotechnology into algal biofertilizers represents a promising advancement in the context of the growing global interest in sustainable agriculture. The present study demonstrates an eco-friendly approach for the synthesize of Fe-Zn oxide composite nanoparticles using aqueous extracts of Dictyota dichotoma (Hudson) J.V.Lamouroux and Sargassum wightii Greville, highlighting their dual contributions as effective reducing and stabilizing agents. Various characterization techniques were employed to examine the properties of the newly formed nanomaterials. UV-Vis spectroscopy displayed characteristic absorption peaks in the range of 300-400 nm, indicating the formation of Fe-Zn oxide nanocomposite. The crystalline structure of newly synthesized nanoparticles was confirmed by X-ray diffractography, which predicted an average crystalline size of 23.87 nm and 9.44 nm for D. dichotoma and S. wightii derived nanocomposite, respectively. FTIR analysis revealed the presence of various functional groups, including C-O, C-C, and H-O groups. Additionally, SEM analysis confirmed the irregular crystalline morphology of nanoparticles. Even with the substantial advancements in modern agriculture, chemical fertilizers still adversely effect environmental health through soil depletion, run-off, and inefficient nutrient distribution. This innovative attempt combines marine biomass with nanotechnology to address international food security concerns and promote green technology and precision agriculture.
