Study reveals types of hand-eye preference in mentally retarded children, suggesting unique patterns exist.
In a study of 395 mentally retarded children, 51% of the children had mixed hand‐eye preference. The most common preference was right‐hand/left eye. Left hand preference was 18%. and left eye preference was 51%. The incidence of mixed hand‐eye preference was significantly higher than that found in other population samples.
