Clinical comparison shows correlation in intraocular pressure measurements between two tonometers, suggesting reliability in practice.
A study of 82 eyes shows a significant correlation between measurements with the two instruments, the Tonomat indicating slightly higher pressures than the Mackay‐Marg. but the difference not being statistically significant. The mean pressure of the Mackay.Marg instrument was lower than has been found in some other studies. The findings show that the Tonomat is a practical, inexpensive, reliable instrument.
