Theoretical analysis demonstrates tunable diamagnetic response in CdSe nanoplatelets due to electric field effects, indicating novel electronic behaviors.
The influence of external electric fields on the electronic properties of a hydrogenic impurity in C d S e nanoplatelets has been studied using a theoretical framework based on the effective mass and adiabatic approximations. Both axial and planar electric fields were considered to examine their impact on diamagnetic susceptibility and electron probability density distributions. A pronounced field-induced redistribution of the electron wavefunction was observed, resulting in a tunable diamagnetic response and anisotropic electronic behavior. Polarization effects at the nanoplatelet–surrounding medium interface were investigated within the framework of the Takagahara model. • Effect of external electric fields on donor impurity in CdSe nanoplatelets is studied. • Both axial and planar field configurations are analyzed. • Field-induced electron delocalization and its impact on diamagnetic susceptibility are examined. • Polarization effects are treated using the Takagahara model. • Results show controllable tuning of magnetic response via external electric fields.
