Demonstrates a novel strategy to maintain stable operation in hybrid power systems by addressing power imbalances caused by pulse loads.
As the core equipment in shipboard integrated power systems, the instantaneous power variations of high-power electromagnetic pulse loads can cause power supply imbalance in diesel-battery hybrid power systems, leading to sustained power oscillations, bus voltage fluctuations, and compromised system stability. To address this, this paper proposes an equivalent Virtual Synchronous Generator(VSG) inertia adaptive strategy by aggregating multiple energy storage devices into a single equivalent unit, which ensures the VSG inertia adaptively varies with the duty cycle and period of pulse loads to reduce system unbalanced power and maintain stable operation. Simulation results comparing the unbalanced power under conventional fixed-inertia control and the proposed strategy validate its effectiveness.
