Optimizes energy storage in river basins, suggesting strategies for renewable energy utilization amidst variability.
The coordinated operation of hydropower-wind-solar integrated energy systems in river basins is a strategic pathway for fully utilizing renewable energy and achieving carbon neutrality. However, the inherent multi-timescale variability of wind, solar, and hydrological resources introduces significant challenges in resource allocation and power system dispatch. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a configuration and optimization method for electric-hydrogen hybrid energy storage systems. Fully considering the hydropower-electricity coupling relationship in cascade hydropower systems and annual runoff variation, the approach coordinates seasonal hydrogen storage system, electric energy storage system, and wind-solar-hydro resources in river basins to achieve full utilization and economical operation of renewable energy in river basins.
