Methodological evaluation reveals time-series forecasting models enhance cost-effectiveness analysis in South Africa's community health centres.
Community health centres in South Africa play a critical role in primary healthcare delivery. However, their efficiency and cost-effectiveness require rigorous evaluation. The review employs systematic methods to identify relevant studies on South African community health centres, focusing on empirical data from the last decade. Studies are selected based on predefined criteria and assessed for methodological quality. A significant proportion (35%) of reviewed studies used time-series forecasting models, demonstrating their potential in cost-effectiveness analysis. Time-series forecasting models provide a robust tool for assessing the financial performance of South African community health centres. Further research should explore model applicability across different regions and contexts to ensure broader utility. Treatment effect was estimated with logit(pᵢ)=β₀+β^ Xᵢ, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
