Rwanda has undergone significant legal reforms aimed at improving land tenure security since gaining independence from Belgium in . The analysis is based on secondary data sources including legal documents, government reports, and academic literature. Despite progress, challenges remain in fully integrating customary legal systems into formal land rights frameworks to ensure equitable and sustainable tenure security. Rwanda should continue efforts to harmonize customary laws with formal legislation, particularly focusing on improving access to justice for rural communities.
