A theoretical design framework reveals AgSbSe 2 as a multifunctional chalcogenide for solar cells and photodetectors. An optimized band alignment in n-CdS/p-AgSbSe 2 /p + -Al x Ga 1− x Sb enables 34.3% efficiency and high photo detectivity.
