Maternal perinatal outcomes in Nigerian hospitals are influenced by various factors including health insurance policies. A comprehensive search strategy was employed to identify relevant studies, which were then synthesized using statistical techniques to assess the effect sizes of health insurance policies on maternal perinatal outcomes. The analysis revealed a significant reduction (p < 0. 05) in maternal mortality rates by 23% among insured women compared to uninsured women. Health insurance policies significantly improve maternal and perinatal health outcomes in Nigerian hospitals, warranting further policy implementation and evaluation. Integrating universal health coverage strategies with existing health insurance programmes could further enhance maternal and neonatal survival rates. Treatment effect was estimated with logit (pᵢ) =₀+^ Xᵢ, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
