Abstract

Area of application Validation of the DNA extraction procedure from marine water samples described in SOP-002.01, i.e. applying CTAB extraction and subsequent phenol-chloroform-isoamyl (PCI) purification described in Renshaw et al. (2015), but modified by supplementing the ethanol precipitation step with the Monarch PCR & DNA Cleanup kit procedure (New England Biolabs). The kit provides further purification of the DNA extract and its concentration in a small volume.
