Examines a phonon waveguide that minimizes energy loss for electromagnetic waves, suggesting advanced superconducting designs.
This paper examines the concept of a phonon waveguide based ona Bose-Einstein condensate embedded in a crystal lattice. A mathematicaldescription of the interaction of the phonon condensate withelectromagnetic waves is presented, using the Schr¨odinger equationsfor phonons and Maxwell’s equations for electromagnetic fields. Themodel predicts an ideal waveguide with minimal energy loss duringwave propagation, opening up new possibilities for the creation of superconductingwaveguides.
