Research explores how translation shapes cultural images in international narratives, impacting China's global identity.
Against the backdrop of the Belt and Road Initiative, external publicity is an important channel for China to have dialogue with the international community. From the perspective of discourse construction, translation is not a neutral tool for language conversion, but rather participates in shaping reality, national identity, and international relations. This research takes the English translation of Longquan Celadon, an official and outstanding cultural symbol of China, as the research object to explore how its translation participates in the construction of specific Chinese cultural images in the external publicity narrative of the Belt and Road Initiative. Through research, it has been found that the English translation of Longquan Celadon is a strategic discourse practice. It transcends the technical level of seeking corresponding words and plays a key role in the competition of international communication soft power, directly serving the needs of China's narrative construction and international image shaping in the new era.
