Site C440-CA-I-01-121919 is part of a utility monitoring and trenching project outside San Diego, California. The site is assigned as a Kumeyaay occupation that likely dates between 6500 and 1500 BC. Two isolated handstones were examined for their starch and protein residue signatures. A soil sample exhibiting pieces of charcoal was processed to recover charcoal fragments for identification and an AMS radiocarbon date.
