Eco-waste management in Dakar cities has faced challenges despite government initiatives aimed at reducing environmental pollution and promoting sustainable practices. Qualitative research methods were employed, including semi-structured interviews with residents and stakeholders, document analysis of waste management policies, and focus group discussions. Community participation was moderate, with over 60% engaging in recycling activities, particularly in areas near recycling centers. Recycling efforts showed a positive impact on reducing landfill usage by 25% during the study period. Despite challenges, community engagement and effective policy implementation have led to notable improvements in waste management practices in Dakar cities. Enhanced community education programmes and increased access to recycling facilities are recommended for further improvement of eco-waste management policies.
