Reveals enhanced electrical properties in LLZO solid-state electrolytes using Pt crucibles, suggesting improved energy storage capacity.
Solid‐state electrolyte lithium lanthanum zirconium oxide, often known as Li 7 La 3 Zr 2 O 12 or LLZO, received extensive focus as a candidate in future‐ready energy storage systems. In order to assess the impact of various crucibles, pure LLZO (P‐LLZO) powder was created in this work utilizing a solid‐state reaction technique. This study of P‐LLZO's electrical and structural characteristics was conducted. To investigate the microstructure of the sample produced in a platinum (Pt) crucible, high‐resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) and selected‐area electron diffraction were utilized. After sintering, the HRTEM images revealed evenly spaced, distinct grains all over the surface. The X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis confirms the presence of La, Zr, Li, and O in the synthesized electrolyte, providing strong evidence of their incorporation. Reduced resistance was observed by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy data, and increased ion transfer efficiency was demonstrated due to the emergence of a sloped line in the Nyquist plot that represented Warburg impedance. In total, it was discovered that the electrical properties were much enhanced by using a Pt‐crucible‐sintered P‐LLZO sample.
