Planned 960 people living with HIV (PLHIV) aged 18 years and above with uncontrolled blood pressure (systolic blood pressure of 140-179 mmHg and/or diastolic blood pressure of 90-100 mmHg) receiving care at primary healthcare centers in Lagos State, Nigeria. Exclusions: prior history of stroke, chronic kidney disease, diabetes mellitus, transient ischemic attack, liver disease, ongoing pregnancy, lactating mothers.

Intervention

Task Strengthening Strategy for Hypertension (TASSH) intervention with Practice Facilitation (PF) implementation strategy, delivered by nurses and Community Health Officers.

Comparator

Self-directed control conditions / standard care.

Outcome

Adaptations to the implementation strategy using the Framework for Reporting Adaptations and Modifications - Enhanced (FRAME) model.
