ABSTRACT This paper investigates the design of a finite‐time event‐triggered interval observer for switched systems subject to external disturbances and measurement errors. A symmetric set‐integration method is applied to simplify the design complexity and enhance the observation accuracy. An event‐triggered mechanism is further introduced to conserve network resources during observer operation. First, a finite‐time event‐triggered observer is constructed based on finite‐time stability theory. Then, the finite‐time event‐triggered interval observer is designed via the symmetric set‐integration approach. Subsequently, the minimum event‐triggered interval is analytically derived to ensure the efficacy of the event‐triggered mechanism. Finally, the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed methodology are illustrated using a comprehensive simulation example.
