Cape Verde is an archipelago facing significant environmental challenges such as soil degradation, water scarcity, and biodiversity loss. A mixed-methods approach combining pre- and post-intervention surveys, focus group discussions, and observational assessments was employed. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics for quantitative measures and thematic analysis for qualitative data. Pre-to-post intervention knowledge gain in environmental awareness was 25% (95% CI: 18%, 32%). Community acceptance of sustainable practices increased from 40% to 60% (p < 0. 05). Environmental education significantly enhanced both knowledge and behavioural change regarding sustainability in Cape Verdean communities. Sustained environmental education programmes should be integrated into the curriculum of all schools in Cape Verde.
