Phosphate is a critical mineral resource in Morocco's economy, yet local utilization of these resources through chemical engineering processes remains underexplored. A qualitative analysis was conducted by reviewing existing literature and interviews with industry experts in Morocco. The study identified a significant proportion (60%) of local resources utilised through innovative process designs, which were less energy-intensive compared to traditional methods. Chemical engineering processes can enhance the efficiency and sustainability of phosphate production in Morocco. Further research should focus on scaling up these processes for broader adoption and potential export opportunities.
