The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between the transformational leadership behaviors of charge nurses and the organizational commitment levels of staff nurses. Additionally, the study investigates whether these variables differ based on the participants' demographic characteristics. This descriptive and correlational study was conducted among 500 nurses working at two training and research hospitals and one state hospital located on the Anatolian side of Istanbul. The sample consisted of 221 nurses. Data were analyzed using SPSS software; descriptive statistics, independent samples t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), Tukey’s HSD test, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression analyses were applied. While transformational leadership generally increased organizational commitment, the independent effects of transformational leadership subdimensions were not found to be statistically significant. Single nurses demonstrated higher transformational leadership perceptions compared to married nurses, and bachelor's degree graduates showed higher transformational leadership perceptions compared to those with high school and associate degree education. Normative commitment scores were higher among high school graduates compared to associate degree holders, and among bachelor's degree graduates compared to master's degree holders. This study demonstrates that transformational leadership practices are effective in enhancing organizational commitment and that educational background creates significant differences in normative commitment tendencies.
