ABSTRACT The current nationwide attack on hypertension, with its emphasis on early detection and prevention, has served to reinforce optometry's commitment to vision‐related health screening and referral. The current status of this multidisciplinary program is reviewed, and the major risk factors are presented, in a hypertension screening/referral form designed to improve the screening/referral process.
