This article is a scholarly review of the Spanish edition of 36 Views of Mount Fuji (Fugaku Sanjūrokkei) by Katsushika Hokusai (1760–1849), translated and annotated by Vicente David Almazán Tomás. The review explores Hokusai’s artistic techniques, his mastery of composition, perspective, and the use of colour in ukiyo-e, and the historical, cultural, and social contexts of his work. It also discusses the influence of Hokusai on European artists, the reception of his work in Japan and abroad, and the editorial choices made by Sans Soleil Ediciones to produce a high-quality Spanish edition.
