Key result
Multicomponent programs yield the largest Alzheimer's prevention benefit in Latin America, driven by CV risk management.
Why the study?
Do preventive interventions (including cardiovascular risk management, cognitive stimulation, physical activity, nutrition, and multicomponent programs) prevent Alzheimer's disease in Latin American populations?

May warrant multicomponent programs emphasizing CV risk management in Latin America; extends prevention evidence to this population.
Systematic review of evidence-based interventions for Alzheimer's disease prevention in Latin American populations (2000-2024). Reviews 47 studies across five intervention domains: cardiovascular risk management, cognitive stimulation, physical activity, nutritional interventions, and multicomponent programs. Multicomponent programs show the largest effect sizes. Scale-up of cardiovascular risk management represents the highest-yield preventive investment for the region.
