DENSE MRI is a promising modality for obtaining high-resolution, three-dimensional cardiac strain measurements for early diagnosis of heart disease.
DENSE MRI may support early strain-based diagnosis; leaves open prospective validation before clinical adoption.
Heart disease is a strong threat to human health. Cardiac strain is an indicator that enables early diagnosis of heart disease. DENSE is one of the new MRI modalities for obtaining cardiac strain, which can directly reflect the movement of the heart, with high resolution and capable of three-dimensional imaging. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the advantages and limitations of DENSE technology through literature review and discuss its development direction.
