This analysis models the activity decline of a therapeutic radiopharmaceutical, indicating its clinical relevance.
The activity of a therapeutic radiopharmaceutical evolves under the combined influence of physicalradioactive decay and biological elimination. In this work, a differential model is developed for thetemporal evolution of activity in a target compartment. The resulting effective decay law is derivedanalytically, and related quantities such as biological half-life, effective half-life, cumulative activity, andresidence time are obtained. The analysis demonstrates how simple differential equations and integralsdescribe the decline of therapeutic radioactivity in a medically relevant context.
