Analysis reviews radioactive materials in samples from the 1F NPP accident, indicating needed method improvements.
After the 1F NPP accident in 2011, various samples obtained in or near the reactor buildings have been received to examine the radioactive materials at FMF. Tiny alpha particles contaminated on samples were found by radioactivity analysis and SEM-EDS/WDS observation. However, apparatus existed in FMF were not able to obtain further information on inner chemical state from the particles. To fulfil some requests of issues with existing analytical methods for the particles from TEPCO etc., improvement and development of analytical methods including new apparatus installation have been conducted. In this paper, past activities regarding 1F sample analysis in FMF are briefly described.
