Does a bioresorbable vascular scaffold have comparable radial expansion and conformation to a metallic platform in an in vitro coronary artery lesion model?
In vitro coronary artery lesion models can accurately predict the acute in vivo response of bioresorbable scaffolds in eccentric lesions.
Results obtained in this in vitro lesion model were comparable to the results in randomised clinical trials comparing BVS and XIENCE stents in vivo. Such models may be useful in future BRS developments to predict their acute response in vivo in eccentric lesions.
