Analysis reveals the role of programmable deformation in ensuring passenger safety during emergency landings in tiltrotors, implying enhanced aircraft resilience.
An analysis of the deformation of a tiltrotor airframe during an emergency landing was conducted for design variants with an energy-absorbing floor and a wing equipped with programmable deformation elements that ensure safe destruction of the structure. Their influence on the collapse of the interior space of the passenger cabin was assessed. In order to develop a comprehensive approach to aircraft safety, the need for calculations of the dynamic deformation of the airframe, in conjunction with the fulfillment of the requirements of the aviation regulations regarding emergency landing, was substantiated. The calculations were carried out on the basis of finite element models using the MSC.Dytran software module, which is based on the explicit integration method.
