Selective intralayer Cl coordination (21.6 wt%) of NiFe(OH) x Cl y optimizes the electronic configuration, induces specific substitution of OH − and triggers O–O coupling of OPM, delivering 217 mV@0.1 A cm −2 and 3000 h@1 A cm −2 .
