Collaborative study develops a multilingual terminology system and new educational models for enhancing ceramic culture communication globally.
Against the backdrop of the continued advancement of the Belt and Road Initiative, the international communication of ceramic culture faces dual challenges: the lack of professional linguistic carriers and a shortage of high-level interdisciplinary talents. This study focuses on the collaborative approach between the construction of a terminology system for the ceramic industry and the training model for foreign language professionals. It proposes the establishment of a standardized multilingual ceramic terminology database as the foundational knowledge base, while reforming the foreign language teaching system based on the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) philosophy. This involves redefining teaching objectives and curriculum structures centered on "translation and interpretation skills, cross-cultural communication competence, and industry application capabilities". By establishing a collaborative model where the "terminology system serves as the content foundation and capability cultivation as the ultimate goal," this study aims to systematically cultivate high-quality talents equipped with both ceramic expertise and international communication skills. This approach seeks to effectively address issues such as cultural discount and talent gaps in the external dissemination of ceramic culture, thereby providing sustainable linguistic services and talent support for the global outreach of Chinese distinctive culture.
