Abstract

Nasya is an essential therapeutic procedure in Ayurveda that involves administering medicinal substances through the nasal passage. This practice, known as Nasya Krama , is a key component of Panchakarma therapy, primarily aimed at eliminating vitiated Doshas from the head (Shirah) and its associated structures. The indications, kinds, process, and pharmacological effects of Nasya therapy are examined in this study by reviewing both the modern scientific literature and traditional Ayurvedic scriptures. According to the analysis, Nasya therapy successfully treats conditions affecting the head, such as sinusitis, migraines, cervical spondylosis, and specific neurological and psychiatric conditions. In addition, it enhances sensory processes, improves voice quality, and encourages hair development. Despite its apparent ease of use, Nasya necessitatesstrict adherence to protocolin orderto minimize issues and optimize advantages. This traditional method provides a comprehensive approach to treating problems of the head and neck.
