Can Tc-99m PYP, Ga-67 citrate, and Tc-99m HMPAO labeled WBC heart scans detect the existence and severity of Coxsackie B virus myocarditis?
This case report describes the arrangement of multiple nuclear imaging modalities to detect and assess the severity of Coxsackie B virus myocarditis.
A 40-year-old woman was admitted because of an onset of acute anterior chest pain and palpitation with lowgrade fever. Coxsackie B virus myocarditis was diagnosed. The Tc-99m HMPAO labeled WBC heart scan, Ga-67 citrate heart scan, and Tc-99m PYP heart scan were arranged to detect the existence and severity of myocarditis.
