HCM and DCM are prevalent heart failure aetiologies in SSA. Longitudinal studies are recommended to contextualise aetiological diagnosis and validate prognostic tools amidst limited resources. Enhanced guideline adherence, hypertension control and efficient post-discharge care are essential to reduce morbidity and mortality.
