What are the temporal trends in the utilization of transvenous lead extraction among patients with CIED infections?
Despite increasing rates, transvenous lead extraction remains underutilized in patients with CIED infections, highlighting the need for improved referral systems and guideline adherence.
Although the TLE rate is increasing, many patients with CIED infections do not undergo TLE. Addressing barriers through physician education, improved referral systems, and adherence to guideline-directed management, especially in noncertified hospitals, is essential for optimizing the TLE rate.
