We found that 6% of patients develop hemostatic dysfunction after hump-nosed viper bites. However, which patients will develop coagulopathy or die of envenoming is unpredictable. Reliable and accessible treatments are unmet essential needs because antivenoms for these bites are currently not available in the country. Therapy with fresh frozen plasma has doubtful efficacy in early correction of VICC and needs further evaluation.
