Descriptive analysis documents a historic agricultural complex, indicating future preservation possibilities.
Historic building recording comprised physical technical analysis to produce descriptions of the building and photographic survey. This was supported by documentary and cartographic research. The Bucklers Hall complex has a long history beginning with the medieval hall house and agricultural complex. The 18th century saw the complex altered and expanded, while a further campaign of work during the Victorian period reconfigured the farm to a model farm layout incorporating pre-existing ranges. The earlier 20th century saw most of these buildings swept away when Bucklers Hall ended its farming tradition. The assessment structure would have comprised a fairly modest timber-framed range built during an 18th century campaign of remodelling or expansion. It has seen extensive alteration with the loss of its original roof structure and degradation of the timber-frame but nevertheless provides clues and evidence of its original form. The structure is of three notional bays with a single entrance that may seasonally have been used for storage but also lends itself for use as an animal shelter, the high, wide doorway perhaps indicating stable use. The building as it stands is in a poor state of preservation and the planned development will see the refurbishment and repair of the frame and the reconstruction of the probable half-hipped roof arrangement.
